Published safety standards

Safety has to be more than a promise.

These standards apply to the Just My Type Android app and the justmytype.love companion website, operated by Just My Type LLC. They explain what is prohibited, how to report a concern, and how we respond.

Everyone on the Service

Community safety standards

Just My Type is an adults-only dating service. Compatibility is not a safety guarantee, and every member is responsible for treating others lawfully and with respect.

  • Use Just My Type only if you are at least 18, and be truthful about your age and identity.
  • Respect consent, boundaries, and another person’s decision to end contact.
  • Do not harass, threaten, stalk, hatefully target, impersonate, exploit, or scam another person.
  • Do not share sexually explicit content, non-consensual intimate material, or another person’s private information.
  • Do not evade a block, account restriction, moderation action, or another safety control.

Speak up safely

Report a concern

Use the in-app controls when they are available. They identify the relevant account, match, or message without asking you to copy sensitive material into email.

In the Android app

Report from a conversation

  • Press and hold an inbound message and choose Report message, or choose Report and end match if you also want to stop contact.
  • To report a broader safety concern while ending an active match, choose the unmatch control and then I felt unsafe or uncomfortable.
  • For a profile, photo, suspected underage member, or any concern without a message, open Account, then Safety & support.

Any other safety concern

Contact the safety team

For a concern about a profile, photo, suspected underage member, or anything the current in-app controls cannot identify, email [email protected]. Include the relevant alias and a brief description. Do not attach suspected illegal material, an identity document, or your password.

Zero tolerance

Child safety standards

Just My Type prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) everywhere on the Service. The Service is only for people age 18 and older; being adults-only does not reduce or replace these standards.

Prohibited conduct includes:

  • child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including requesting, creating, uploading, storing, sharing, or distributing real, altered, or generated depictions;
  • grooming, sexual solicitation, or other predatory contact involving a minor;
  • sexualization, sextortion, sexual exploitation, or sex trafficking involving a minor;
  • coercing or encouraging a minor to create or exchange sexual imagery;
  • identifying, contacting, arranging to meet, or locating a person known or suspected to be a minor for sexual or exploitative purposes; and
  • using the Service to arrange, promote, facilitate, or conceal any child sexual abuse or exploitation.

An account that self-reports an age under 18 is restricted from member features. Just My Type does not claim that every member’s identity or age has been independently verified.

After a report

How Just My Type responds

We act on actual knowledge of prohibited material or conduct in line with these standards and applicable law. We do not wait for an ordinary popularity vote to address an urgent child-safety concern.

  1. Review and protect

    Authorized staff review the available report and relevant in-service context, prioritize immediate safety, and limit access to sensitive evidence.

  2. Act on the Service

    We may make prohibited material inaccessible, end matches, restrict or close accounts, and preserve only the evidence needed for safety and legal obligations.

  3. Report when required

    We report apparent child sexual exploitation, including reportable CSAM, online enticement, or child sex trafficking, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children or the relevant regional authority when required by applicable law.

Private review

Safety reports and relevant evidence are limited to authorized staff. We do not tell the reported member who made a report or expose investigation status. To protect the people involved and the integrity of the review, reporters generally do not receive details about later enforcement.

External child-safety reporting

In the United States, anyone can report suspected online child sexual exploitation directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s CyberTipline.
